On the last trip out my father attempted to lift the trolling motor only to snap the rope and be tossed on the back deck. We will be going over how to replace your rope with a 3/32″ wire cord.
Materials:
4ft of 3/32″ Stainless Steel Cable vinyl coated – $0.36 per foot
Steps
- Remove the remaining rope from mounting point
- Thread wire through trolling motor, under pulley bar
- Tie wire to mounting point
- Tie to handle
- Test
